Practical Action works together with poor people in developing countries to help create practical answers to poverty, by building on people's the technical skills and enabling them to improve the quality of their lives and that of future generations.

Working in a divided and fragile world, Practical Action aims to eradicate poverty in developing countries through the development and use of technology, by demonstrating results, sharing knowledge and influencing others.

Practical Action's vision is a world free of poverty and injustice in which technology is used to the benefit of all.

Programmes and Activities-

Practical Action's key activities include providing practical solutions to poverty by working across a variety of technologies with particular focus on food processing and food production, shelter, transport, small business development, training, renewable energy, disaster management, water and sanitation, communications technologies, research and advocacy programmes.

Practical Action has projects throughout East and South Africa, Latin America and South Asia, with particulary concentration on Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Peru, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Zimbabwe.
